Ashaiman MCE refutes claims of land sale

The Ashaiman Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Albert Boakye Okyere has denied claims that the Ashaiman Municipal Assembly under his leadership has sold the parcel of land near the Ashaiman overpass popularly known as Sakasaka to an investor for his parochial interest.

Some scrap dealers led by one Thomas Adongo hit the streets of Ashaiman and demonstrated against the MCE for allegedly selling the land.

The protesters stated that they will not relocate from the said land.

But reacting to the allegations at a press Hon. Albert Boakye Okyere directed them to go to Tema Development Company (TDC) since the land belong to them.

He explained that the TDC has sold the land in question to Sentuo Ceramics for a project under 1D1F and wondered why Thomas Adongo went to the public to deceive them.

He explained that the Ashaiman Municipal Assembly which is only facilitating the project has already engaged leadership of the scrap dealers who have agreed to relocate to an area the Assembly is preparing for them.
