KNUST SHS Students Rampage Over Death Of Colleague

Some irate students of KNUST Senior High school on Wednesday held a demonstration on the school’s campus after one their colleagues who they claimed was ill was left unattended to die.

According to the students, the deceased Master Leonard Richard Sam, a final year Business student, was left unattended to at the sick bay of the school when he complained of stomach upset because of fear of COVID-19.

Videos captured on campus by colleagues of the deceased and intercepted by Net2 Television news show the deceased groaning in pains being supported and assisted by some of his colleagues.

According to the students, had the school’s authorities acted promptly, the boy’s life would have been saved.

News of the death of the business student sent the students on a rampage in the school; pelting stones and destroying school’s property.

The headmistress of the school, Madam Felicia Danso has had the windscreens of her saloon car broken by the rampaging students, in the aftermath of the death of the student.

Personnel from the Ashanti Regional Police command have been called in to prevent further destruction of the school properties by the demonstrators.

The Deputy Ashanti Regional Police Command, DCOP David Agyemang Adjem said calm had restored to the school’s compound as they have spoken with the students and are considering withdrawing some of his men from the school.
