Director General of Ghana Atomic Energy Commission (GAEC) Prof.Benjamin Jabez Botwe Nyarko , BJB- Nyarko as affectionately called, has disclosed that, Atomic Energy Commission is not there to produce nuclear weapons. Therefore, people must get rid of that perception.

Speaking to the media, he disclosed the institution has Gama Radiation Facility which is use to preserve food for years( perishable and non perishable) commodities.

He added that, the Commission is ready to support Government flagship program such as Planting For Food and Jobs (PFJBs) and One District One Warehouse, by establishing Gama Radiation Facility close to where the raw materials are been produced i.e Kintampo, Techiman etc.
