Some 1,255 New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegates from the Tarkwa-Nsuaem constituency in the Western Region have endorsed Hon Ken Ohene Agyapong as the best candidate among the 5 who are contesting for the flag-bearer slot for the party in the upcoming January 31 presidential primaries.
The delegates, who are mainly polling station executives from the 30 electoral areas in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem constituency, made these declarations during a press briefing at the Ken Agyapong Campaign office at Shiashie, in Accra, last Friday.
Led by their spokesperson, Mr Daniel Cudjoe, Chairman of the Wassa Electoral area, the delegates said their support emanates from the inspiring policies and programmes, Hon Ken Agyapong has been touting since declaring his intention for the flag-bearer slot of the party.
He gave a historical antecedent to previous NPP administrations and their impact on society, stressing that only Ken Agyapong is capable of continuing the tradition.
He added that the clarion call from the streets is that Ken Agyapong, who is an experienced politician and a time-tested entrepreneur, is the choice of Ghanaians.
The Women’s Coordinator for Team Ken and coordinator for Ladies 4 Ken movement, Hajia Humu Saaed, in an interview with NET2 TV NEWS, said the development signals the increasing popularity and strength among the delegates, as against the weakening support other contestants are receiving.
She reminded the delegates to go all out and vote for Ken Agyapong, who is number one on the ballot paper.
Ms Abigail Abena Achiaa Kyei-Baffour, Secretary of the Ladies 4 Ken movement, for her part, said the support from Tarkwa Nsuaem goes to prove the acceptance of Ken Agyapong’s message of hope to many Ghanaians across the country.
