Ghanaian Students have been urged to equip themselves with Chinese language proficiency to enhance cultural diversity.
This, according to the Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute of the University of Ghana Prof. Wang Jimm, will break down geographical barriers and help students establish global perspectives.
He made these remarks during the 2024 International Chinese Day Celebrations.
Prof Wang further said the demand for both English and Chinese speakers grow bigger globally, the Confucius Institute at the University of Ghana is urging more people to take keen interest in learning the Chinese language. Additionally, roles in education, tourism, and international relations benefit from learning the language.
Addressing Journalists during the 2024 International Chinese Day Celebrations, the Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute, Prof. Wang Jimm, recommended the study of Chinese to be included in the Ghanaian curriculum.
Touching on the theme ‘connecting cultures through the bridge of mutual learning, Ghanaian Director of the Confucius Institute Professor Clement K.I Appah encouraged Ghanaian students to take up Chinese proficiency and take advantage of the opportunities.
Some of the students who participated in the 2024 Chinese Day Celebration during an interview expressed their love for the Chinese language, culture and how it would help bridge the language barrier in terms of business.
