2024 GENERAL ELECTION: ELECTORAL COMMISSION PRESENTS FINAL VOTERS REGISTER TO POLITICAL PARTIES

The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has formally presented the final voters’ register to political parties, marking a key step in preparation for the 2024 elections.
The register contains the names of eligible voters for the elections set for December 7, 2024.
In a formal presentation held on Wednesday, November 6, the EC provided soft copies of the certified final voters register to political parties as well as independent candidates representatives, meeting their promised timeline for early November.
The EC’s Chairperson, Jean Mensa, underscored the Commission’s commitment to ensuring transparency and accuracy in the December polls, saying, “We now have a robust and credible final certified voters register, which is fit to deliver a credible, transparent, fair, peaceful, and glorious election come December 7, 2024.”
Madam Jean Mensa highlighted that the EC’s timely preparation of the voter register was made possible “with the help of God” and expressed gratitude for the successful completion of this critical step in the election process.
Speaking to political parties and independent candidates representatives at a press conference in Accra the
Madam Jean Mensah said she is pleased to note that all the issues have been resolved, and as she spoke, the electoral commission has no further issues regarding the final voter registration for the 2024 general election.

During the last IPAC meeting on October 15, the EC assured stakeholders that soft copies of the certified register would be made available by the end of the first week of November. With the early delivery on November 6, the EC has provided political parties ample time to review the final voter data, reinforcing their dedication to an open and accessible electoral process.
