Parliament of Ghana on Tuesday continued its vetting process for appointees nominated for ministerial positions by the President of the republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, in accordance with Article 78 (1) of the Constitution that mandates nominees by the President for ministerial appointments to be approved by Parliament before they can act or hold themselves out as ministers or deputy ministers of state.

Taking their turns on Tuesday were Madam Cecilia Abena Dapaah, Minister-designate for Sanitation and Water Resources, Kwaku Ofori Asiamah, Minister designate for Transport, and Hon Joseph Cudjoe, Minister designate for Public Enterprises.

Madam Cecilia Dapaah during the process stated that Accra is on course to achieving its vision as the cleanest city in Africa.

She explained that cleanliness was an all-inclusive process, which entailed a lot of work to yield results.
She also highlighted the improvement in the provision of potable water and sanitation, as well as the provision of toilets in households without the facilities.

Taking his turn Minister-designate for transport Kwaku Ofori Asiamah also shared his thoughts on some salient matters in the transport sector.

Hon Joseph Cudjoe, who also doubles as the MP for the Effia constituency in the Western Region, was advised by the chairperson of the committee to focus on the business development of state enterprises.

Mr Cudjoe justified the creation of the Ministry, which he said charted a new path in the supervision of state enterprises to operate more profitably.
