Eastern Regional Minister, Hon. Seth Kwame Acheampong together with MCE of Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Assembly, Simon Kweku Tetteh, with the support of Asofuaste of Manya Krobo, has cut the sod for the construction of a Multi-purpose Business Resource Center at Odumase Krobo in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality which will go a long way to enhance the economic benefits in the catchment area.
Similar to the ongoing projects in all the sixteen (16) Regions, the 3 story building facility would have the capacity to seat 300 people.
The Center is expected to be completed within ten (10) months and will cost some GH¢3,169,220,46. The project includes a 300-seater capacity conference room, restaurants, 15 offices, as well as 11 accommodation flats fitted with a lift in line with the disability protocols.
Later, Hon. Seth Acheampong broke the ground for the bituminous surfacing of the 1.20 kilometers Canna and Kpanyas. It is expected to be completed in 9 months with a cost of Gh¢2,507,035,35.
Speaking at a short ceremony, the Regional Minister said, it was his duty to ensure that the projects are executed and delivered to the people and communities as the government pursues its developmental agenda across the region.
He is hopeful that with the support from the Traditional authorities in the area, the consultants and contractors will complete the project on time.
Speaking with the media, the Eastern Regional Minister highlighted the importance of the road, stressing that will help facilitate the economic benefits of residents especially traders, drivers, and other professionals within and around the area.
The Project Manager Kwame Asante Boateng, Samotrust construction limited, assured that they’re fully equipped to finish and hand over the facility within the 10 months expected, adding that, despite their readiness to embark on the project, the only hindrance to them would be rainfall pattern as well as the delay of funds.
NENE TEYE AJEISU III, Asafuaste of Manya Krobo Traditional Area who Spoke on behalf of NENE SAKITE II, the Kornor of Many Krobo Traditional Area, appreciate the effort of government for the kind gesture and gave his full blessing to the commencement of the project.
He appreciated their share of the national cake and acknowledged efforts govt is doing to bring development to the Krobo land.
