The much anticipated compilation of the electoral register in Ghana, is expected to take off in April, this year.
This was disclosed by the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in the Norwegian capital of Oslo, when he interacted with a cross section of the Ghanaian community in Norway.
The President is currently on a working visit to Norway, at the invitation of Prime Minister Erna Solberg.
As co-Chair of the Eminent Group of Advocates of the 2030 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals with the Norwegian Prime Minister, President Akufo-Addo will also join other SDG Advocates at a High-Level meeting on food security and climate change later on Monday.
Speaking to the Ghanaian community at the Grand Hotel, President Akufo-Addo revealed that the compilation of the new voters register will commence hopefully in April, this year.
The president assured Ghanaians that the economy of Ghana, is now ready for the next phase of economic development, and gave an overview of the economy in Ghana.
He reiterated the rising confidence of international money markets on prospects of doing business with Ghana, justifying the recent financial clean up, and touting the achievement of the Bank of Ghana.
