Vice President Kamala Harris has also conceded the election to President-elect Donald Trump on Wednesday, urging her supporters not to despair but to continue “the fight that fueled the campaign.”
Harris addressed a crowd of supporters, including former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, from Howard University in Washington, D.C., after she was defeated by Trump in the race for the White House.
She said her heart is full today, full of gratitude for the trust some Americans placed in her, full of love for the country, and full of resolve. The outcome of the election was not what they wanted, not what they fought for, not what they voted for, but they should all accept the result.
In a related development, world leaders rushed to congratulate president-elect Donald Trump on Wednesday after he was projected to have defeated Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris in the US election.
