Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has reaffirmed his belief and confidence in the policies of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential candidate, highlighting their potential to drive national development and further endorsing the Vice President to steer the affairs of the country.
He therefore called on the electorate to vote for Dr. Bawumia and the NPP in the December elections to give them the opportunity to transform Ghana.
Former President Kufuor gave this endorsement at Kyebi in the Abuakwa South constituency of the Eastern Region when he accompanied NPP vice presidential candidate, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, to campaign in the area on Wednesday.
Speaking at a mini rally, the former president called on voters to support Dr. Bawumia, emphasising that his vision and policies are key to Ghana’s progress.
Earlier, former President Kufuor led the NPP delegation to pay a courtesy call on the paramount chief of the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Council, Okyenhene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin II, at his palace.
The visit was for the NPP entourage to seek the blessings of the traditional authority to engage the constituents in the area.
Addressing the Okyenhene and his elders, former president Kufuor jabbed attempts by some to be silent and rather reiterated his confidence and trust in Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
He also validated the choice of Napo as the NPP’s presidential running mate, whom he has counselled on leadership skills and assured Ghanaians of his competence to deliver results.
