It was a royal celebration of unity and cultural heritage on Sunday when the Ga Mantse King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II welcomed Her Regal Majesty, Olori Dr. Temitope Enitan-Ogunwusi, and her delegation to the Ga Paramount Stool House.
The Ile-Ife First Lady is the wife of the 51st and current Ooni of Ife, a traditional ruler and monarch of the Yoruba people of Ile-Ife.
Her visit is viewed as deepening the historical bond between the traditional states.
Folklore has it that the Ga-Adangbe came from Ile Ife in Yorubaland in Nigeria through Seme, a settlement on the border between Nigeria and the Republic of Benin.
In her address to the Ga Mantse, Dr. Temitope Enitan-Ogunwusi expressed her appreciation for the warm reception for her and her delegation and relayed a message from the Ooni of Ife.
She used the occasion to pledge the continuous love and deepening of relations between the Yorubas and the Gas, stating that the renewed bond will grow from strength to strength.
Welcoming the Nigerian royal to the Ga Stool Palace, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, recalling an earlier homage he paid to Ife in 2022, said the visit was to refortify the blood relations between the Ga nation and their Yoruba counterparts.
The royals exchanged traditional gifts and pleasantries to celebrate the renewal and refortification of relations between the two ethnic nations.
