The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced plans to establish an election review committee in January 2025 to conduct a thorough post-mortem analysis of the party’s defeat in the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections.
The committee will engage with party stakeholders and the general public to identify the factors and circumstances that led to the party’s defeat.
The National Chairman of the NPP, Stephen Ayesu Ntim, announced this at a news conference yesterday, December 23, at the party’s headquarters at Asylum Down in Accra.
He said the committee would also examine the need for constitutional amendments and restructuring the party’s internal decision-making processes, particularly in electing presidential and parliamentary candidates and party executives.
Mr. Ntim acknowledged that this period was challenging for the party but expressed confidence in the NPP’s resilience.
Mr. Ntim urged party members to engage in the restructuring process with renewed energy.
