Samuel Awuku, the Director General of the National Lottery Authority (NLA), has officially resigned from his position, citing his election as the Member of Parliament for Akwapim North and his wish to focus on serving his constituents.

Awuku, who was appointed by former President Nana Akufo-Addo in August 2021, submitted his resignation letter to President John Dramani Mahama on January 13, 2025. The letter was also sent to key figures including Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, and other relevant authorities.

In his resignation, Mr. Awuku emphasized his commitment to his new role as a Member of Parliament and his dedication to representing the people of Akwapim North.
