Ken Ofori-Atta Declared Wanted Again by Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP)

Former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta has once again been declared wanted by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) after failing to comply with a directive to appear in person for questioning.

In a firm announcement on Monday, June 3, Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng stated that the OSP’s patience with Mr. Ofori-Atta has reached its limit due to his repeated delays and refusal to comply with ongoing criminal proceedings.

“We want him here physically. We have indulged him for long, and it ends here,” Agyebeng declared during a press conference.

Mr. Ofori-Atta had reportedly requested to participate in proceedings virtually, citing health-related challenges. His legal team submitted medical documents to both the OSP and the Human Rights Court, indicating he is currently receiving treatment abroad and is unable to travel.

Despite these submissions, the OSP insists that his physical presence is mandatory, as he faces serious allegations including money laundering and causing financial loss to the state.

This latest move places Mr. Ofori-Atta back on the OSP’s wanted list and raises the possibility of international enforcement measures such as an INTERPOL Red Notice.
