The Assin Central Member of Parliament, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong has continued his philanthropic gesture of presenting his widow’s mite to some frontline agencies assisting in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic in Ghana.
The latest of such gestures was when he made a donation of some personal protective equipment comprising 5,000 nose masks and 3,000 gloves to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital at a short presentation ceremony in Accra.
According to Hon. Kennedy Agyapong , the KATH erroneously omitted from his earlier donations and this was the oppotune time to amend his error with the presentation.
He said the Ashanti Region following Greater Accra Region in the number of COVID-19 positive cases, it was imperative to support the health facilities in the region.
He expressed his satisfaction at the public’s response to the President’s appeal for shoulders to be put to the wheel.
He urged Ghanaians to take the pandemic serious, as even the most advanced economies are feeling the harsh effects of the pandemic.
Hon. Kennedy Agyapong decried a dangerous perception doing the rounds among nationals of neighouring countries that, Ghana is a good place to cure COVID-19, hence the high numbers of foreigners arrested, who have tested positive for the virus urging the security agencies to sit up.
He had a word of advise for local herbal producers to be mindful of claims of efficacy, saying as a country, we have to tread cautiously.
A representative from Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital , Foster Asare Peprah expressed his gratitude to the Assin Central lawmaker for his gesture and advise.
