A bill to criminalise Child Pornography to be laid in Parliament

The Minister for Communications, Ursula Owusu Ekuful is engaging stakeholders on a new bill which seek to criminalise cyber offences including child pornography.

The stakeholders are made up of industries professional in the Cyber Security space which is made up, National Security Coordinator, EOCO, BNI, Army forces among others.

Speaking at the program, Mrs Ekuful disclosed that more than 5.5 million Ghanaians use mobile internet and she said cyber security affects as all which it’s security must not be compromise.

She said the draft bill will be forwarded to Cabinet which will later be sent to Parliament by the close of the year for consideration and approval.

Mrs Ursula Ekuful in an interview with Oman Fm she disclose that when the bill is passed no one has the authority to share children pornographic materials because the law will deal with you.

She called on all Ghanaian’s to delete such pornographic materials from their phones immediately when someone sent it and not to share.
