ABURI – ADAEKESE DURBAR: ABURIHENE ADVISES GHANAIANS TO EXERCISE VOTING RIGHTS RESPONSIBLY DURING 2024 ELECTIONS

The Aburihene, Otoobour Djan Kwasi II, has called on all Ghanaians especially the youth to exercise their franchise and rights responsibly as the upcoming 2024 election approaches.
He said the election is important for development, especially considering the significant role young people play in shaping the country’s future.
Otoobour Djan Kwasi II expressed confidence that Ghana will maintain its civility throughout the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections, despite politicians’ war-mongering.
Otoobour Djan Kwasi II who is also the Adontenhene of Akuapem Traditional Council, gave the advice at the Adaekese durbar at Aburi Nsakye, which marks the lifting of the ban on noise-making and drumming in Aburi, as part of activities commemorating the town’s Odwira festival.
The Adaekese at Aburi Nsakye ceremony holds significant cultural and traditional importance, signalling the start of festivities and preparations for the Odwira Festival, where the ban on noise-making and drumming is typically enforced before the festival to promote reflection, purification, and peace.
Addressing the gathering, Otoobour Djan Kwasi II used the opportunity to urge all eligible Ghanaians to exercise their right to vote and contribute to a free and fair electoral process.

Otoobour Djan Kwasi II reminded politicians to prioritize peace and civility during the electoral process and urged voters to return home after casting their ballots and await the announcement of election results, to promote a peaceful and responsible approach to democracy.

Addressing the gathering, Eric Yeboah Apeadu, the NPP parliamentary candidate for the area paid tribute to Hon. O. B Amoah Member of Parliament for Akuapem South Constituency. He attributed his success to his mentorship and support, emphasizing that his leadership has shaped his personal and professional growth within Aburi environs.
He also took the opportunity to highlight some of the notable achievements of the NPP government in the constituency.

Speaking with a cross-section of the media, the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Akuapem South, assured the traditional rulers and people within the Akuapem South Constituency that electing Dr Bawumia would bring about a transformative change for the constituency, ensuring the well-being and brighter future for all.
He encouraged them to place their trust in NPPs proven track record and elect him and Dr Mahamadu Bawumia to continue driving progress and development in the constituency, building on the foundation of success already established.
