The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has called on the general public to accept President nominees of MMDCEs in good faith.
Speaking at a press conference at the party’s headquarters, Asylum Down here in Accra, the Communications Director of NPP, Yaw Buaben Asamoah said the President has the power to appoint anybody to represent him at the local level, hence, party supporters and foot soldiers should accept the list of MMDCEs when announced.
According to him, the 1992 constitution of the Republic gives prerogative power to the President to appoint anybody to be as MMDCEs at the local level.
President Akufo Addo has finally submitted the list of Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives to the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Hon Dan Botwe to announce it to the general public.
The Communications Director for NPP, Mr. Yaw Boabeng Asamoah urged all NPP supporters and foot soldiers to accept the names in good faith for the development of the country.
