Ghanaian supporters of the men’s senior national team, The Black Stars, will be sitting on tenterhooks this evening as Ghana takes on The Mambas of Mozambique in the final group B match of the ongoing 34th African Cup of Nations tournament, to be played this evening at the Alassane Ouattara Sports Stadium at Ebimpe in Abidjan, the Ivorian Capital.
The Black Stars, who drew their last game against Egypt, will hope to win handsomely to enable qualification for the knockout phase of the competition.
Some Ghanaian supporters of the Black Stars have remained unconvinced about the chances of the national team securing any top honors at the competition due to a string of poor performances, especially against Cape Verde in their opening group B match, which Ghana lost 2-1.
Others believe that with the much-improved performance in the second game against Egypt, the inclusion of Mohammed Kudus and tactical discipline, the Black Stars can soar to victory against Mozambique to get to the next stage.
The Black Stars held their final training session on Sunday, where the concluding drills and tactics were done in preparation for this all-important duel.
Later, at a press briefing on Sunday, the technical staff headed by Head Coach Chris Hughton said Ghana was ready to take on the Mambas of Mozambique to ensure qualification for the next round.
Head of Sports at Oman 107.1 FM, Yaw Asante Yeboah, also shared his expectations for this evening’s crucial match against Mozambique.
Some supporters in Abidjan to support the Black Stars also spoke with NET2 TV News.
