Hon. Alexander Afenyo Markins, the Minority Leader in Parliament, has praised Oman FM and Net2 TV for their consistent support of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) over the years. He made these remarks during an interview on Oman FM’s Morning Show with Abena Nyarko Kweikuma.
Speaking on the program, Hon. Afenyo Markins highlighted the important role the two media outlets have played in promoting the party’s activities and policies. He noted that during the NPP’s time in opposition, Oman FM and Net2 TV were the main platforms that carried the party’s message to Ghanaians.
“We are very grateful to everyone who works at Oman FM and Net2 TV for the great work they have done for the NPP. You have done it before, from President Kufuor’s time through our eight years in opposition, and we recognize your contribution,” he said.
The Minority Leader assured the stations that they would remain central to the NPP’s communication strategy. “This place is going to be our home, and I will ensure that all our activities will come to you. Our MPs and breaking news will always pass through Oman FM and Net2 TV,” he added.
Hon. Afenyo Markins also explained that his decision to appear on Oman FM for his first media engagement as Minority Leader was deliberate. “I made a promise that my first media engagement would be here, and I am very grateful to have fulfilled it,” he said.
This statement reinforces the NPP’s reliance on Oman FM and Net2 TV as trusted platforms to engage with Ghanaians and share updates on their activities.
Listeners of Oman FM have welcomed the Minority Leader’s comments, which underline the station’s importance as a key voice in Ghana’s media space.
