The Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has advised the New Patriotic Party (NPP) under the leadership of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to intensify and ramp up its communications on its achievements in office, to inform and educate the electorate on the party’s successes in government, ahead of the December elections.
The Asantehene gave this advice when the second lady, Samira Bawumia paid a courtesy call on him during an Akwasidae durbar at the Manhyia Palace on Wednesday, as part of her tour of the Ashanti Region.
Samira Bawumia who is in the region campaigning for her husband, the NPP flagbearer, was accompanied by the Ashanti Regional Minister Simon Osei Mensah, Ashanti regional executives of the NPP, some MPs from the region and other leading members of the party.
In her remarks, Samira Bawumia espoused the superior qualities of her husband in leading the country through effective and efficient governance, which has been proven through his track record.

She said Dr. Bawumia has bold solutions for the country which serves the interest of all Ghanaians and appealed to the Asantehene for his blessings and the support of Asanteman to win the upcoming elections.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, in his response, said he was impressed with the conduct of the NPP flag bearer and the Second lady on the campaign trail so far and urged them to maintain decorum and peaceful posture.

He advised the second lady to keep explaining the policies and programs of the NPP and its success story to the electorate, which will inform and educate the population to make the appropriate decision and vote accordingly.
