The Minister for Trade and Industry, Alan Kojo Kyeremanteng says government has made it possible for Astec Company Limited located in Nsawam to bounce back after fifteen years total collapse.
According to the Minister, 5.4 million Ghana cedis has be granted to the company through Exim Bank to start production of canned sliced and Chucked Pineapples to Spain , USA and Egypt under the one district one factory initiative.
Mr Kojo Kyeremanteng indicated that the pineapple processing equipment is scheduled to arrive in January for installation and operation begins in April, 2020.
In view of that the company is also expected to employ 60 direct and over 200 indirect jobs for the people within Nsawam Adoagyiri Municipality and it’s surrounding Communities.
Speaking to the MP for the Area, Mr Frank Annoh Dompreh he was optimistic that the commencement of the company will bring life back to his constituents and appealed to Exim Bank to facilitate and release the remaining funds to the company.
