The member of Parliament (MP) for Atwima Mponua who double as the Minister of Youth and Sports, Hon. Isaac Kwame Asiamah has pledged to affix rural communities without electricity within the Atwima Mponua Constituency in the Ashanti Region.
Some communities in the Atwima Mponua district to benefit from the connection to the national grid are: Oboasekrom, Nkwaseatan, Dodowa, Bayerebon No. 2, Nyebe3ny3, Kakatri, Kodjofodjourkrom, Bentenkrom and many more.
This electrification project was made possible through the leadership and interminable effort of Isaac Kwame Asiamah, MP for Atwima Mponua.
The work has taken off in some communities and electricity poles to be used have been delivered for work to begin in some areas.
“I will ensure that, all the communities with no electricity will get light in my tenure as Member of Parliament”.
The Member of Parliament for Atwima Mponua, Isaac Kwame Asiamah during the Inauguration ceremony of the rural electrification project at Oboasekrom in the Atwima Mponua Constituency said.
At the ceremony, the Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon. Isaac Kwame Asiamah expressed hope that these communities would respond in return by voting massively for him and President Nana Addo Danqwah Akuffo-Addo come December 7.
The residents expressed their appreciation to the MP of Atwima Mponua for his contributions to a project which they never had the chance to enjoy.
The Deputy Minister of Energy, Hon. Williams Owuraku Aidoo, indicated that, the project was scheduled to commence early 2020 but was delayed due to the outbreak of Covid-19.
The Deputy Minister of Energy in charge of power, William Owuraku Aidoo, is confident every household in Ghana will have access to electricity by 2025.
12,000 communities in Ghana have benefited from the electrification project.
By 2025, every household in Ghana will have access to electricity of which 338 communities are in the Ashanti Region.
