The NPP parliamentary candidate for Ejura Sekyedumase, Gifty Ndoma, for her part, said she is confident about clinching the Ejura seat from the opposition NDC.
Despite the NDC’s historical dominance in the constituency, Gifty believes that the party has not made significant efforts to develop the area and urged the constituents to allow her to lead the constituency for the first time.
The NPP previously held the seat for a term with Mohammed Salisu Bamba from 2012 to 2016. The ruling party is determined to regain the seat in the upcoming elections, which has been a stronghold for the NDC in the Ashanti Region.
Later at a community connect rally, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia rebuffed the Fulani rumours and endorsed Gifty Ndoma as the ideal candidate to represent the constituency in 2025.
The NPP flag bearer was also in the Asante Mampong constituency, where he held a stakeholder’s engagement with chiefs and religious and opinion leaders in the area.
Deputy Chief Imam of Mampong, Alhaji Ahmed Osman, asserted that parents must take charge in campaigning for the NPP. This is because of the free senior high school policy, which has benefited many households.
Dr. Bawumia also addressed a mammoth rally at Mampong, where he set out his vision to the electorate.
Vice President Bawumia wrapped up his day at Nsuta Beposo, where he was received warmly by the youth and gave highlights of his bold solutions for Ghana at a community connect event.
