Bayern Munich complete £65m signing of Liverpool winger Luis Díaz.

Liverpool winger Luis Díaz has completed a £65.5 million transfer to Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.

The Colombia international has signed a four year contract with the German giants, bringing his three-and-a-half-year spell at Anfield to a close.

The 28-year-old was omitted from Liverpool’s pre-season clash with AC Milan on Saturday amid mounting speculation about his future.

After initially rejecting Bayern’s £58.6 million bid earlier this month, Liverpool accepted a revised offer of £65.5 million over the weekend, allowing Díaz to undergo a medical with the club.

“I’m very happy it means a lot to me to join FC Bayern, one of the biggest clubs in the world,” said Díaz, who will wear the number 14 shirt. “I want to contribute with my style of play and personality. The goal is to win every title possible we’ll work hard every day as a team to achieve that.”

Díaz arrived at Liverpool from Porto in January 2022 for an initial fee of £37 million. He went on to score 41 goals in 148 appearances for the Reds.

He won both the FA Cup and EFL Cup in his debut season and featured in the team that was beaten by Real Madrid in the 2022 Champions League final.

Díaz enjoyed the most prolific campaign of his career last season, netting 17 goals across all competitions as Liverpool secured the Premier League title.
