Black Queens received praises from André Ayew after WAFCON 2024 glory.

Ex Black Stars captain André Ayew has praised the Black Queens for their impressive performance at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

Under 20 world cup winner , Ayew met with the team during a dinner hosted by Vice President Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang on Tuesday, where he commended the players for showcasing exceptional talent and resilience on the continental stage.

“Ghanaians are passionate about football, but what you’ve accomplished goes beyond the game you’ve made a lasting mark,” Ayew said.

“I didn’t know many of you before, but now I see the greatness in all of you. This is only the beginning,” he added.

The Black Queens returned to Ghana on Monday, July 28, to a rousing and celebratory welcome after securing a bronze medal at WAFCON their first podium finish since 2016.

They clinched third place by narrowly defeating South Africa 4-3 in a dramatic penalty shootout, following a 1-1 draw in the third-place match.
