Parliament has passed the complementary education agency bill, 2019.
The object of the bill is to establish the complementary education agency to provide for educational programmes outside the formal education system.
He explained that, the bill is aimed to provide learning opportunities and complementary education for those who are outside the mainstream of formal education system and help to equip requisite knowledge and skills.
The Deputy minister for education Hon. Yaw Adutwum emphatically stated that the bill will give access to education for old age who could not access formal education due to some circumstances and were left behind class during their childhood age.
Mr Adutwum, said, today is the great day in the history of this nation as president Nana Ado Dankwa Akufo-Addo through the education ministry to initiate this process in transforming adult learning in the country.
Government is going to create many learning centers across the country to enable adult who were left behind formal education during their early ages also have access to education through the passage of this bill.
