The Member of Parliament Assin South and member of the finance committee of Parliament has called for Parliament inquiry onto the Airbus bribery scandal involving Ghana government officials in the Military Aircraft Deal which has become a serious concern to the general public.
According to him there has been disturbing revelations contained in the agreement that some official of Airbus between 2009 and 2015 promised success based commission payments of approximately five million Euros to intermediary 5 who is alleged to be a close relative of a high ranking elected Ghanaian Government official, Government Official 1.
He said the government officials was said to be a key decision maker in respect of Government of Ghana.
The MP for Assin South, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour in a statement on the floor of Parliament called for Bi Partisan inquiry into the matter.
Meanwhile, the first Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Joseph Osei Owusu suggested that the case has been referred to the SP for investigation so it will be appropriate they leave the matter for the special prosecutor to do his work.
