Covid-19: Markets And Lorry Stations In Oti Region Disinfected

As part of curbing the Coronavirus pandemic in the country the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development and Zoomlion is currently embarking on a nationwide disinfection exercise in all the markets, lorry stations and all public places across the country.

The Oti region today had their share of the disinfection exercise in over hundred markets

Speaking to the regional minister, Nana Kwasi Owusu Yeboa he indicated that as part of their measures to combat the Coronavirus pandemic they have instituted Police barrier with health personnel in all the entries into their region to check anyone who enters the region to make sure that they won’t record any case of Covid 19.

According to the minister even though the region have not recorded any cases of Covid 19 but they have four quarantine centers should in case of any emergencies and all the hospitals and chips compounds nurses have been provided with personal protective equipment to make them save.

The deputy minister for Sanitation and Water Resources who doubles as the MP for Krachie East, Michael Yaw Gyato, speaking to Journalist he used the occasion and appealed to his people who are predominantly farmers to use this lockdown and season of no meetings and greetings to be in their farms which will go alone way to increase their farm produce.

The minister said he has observe that his constituents do not take the hand washing and using of hand sanitizers seriously because their region have not recorded any case yet and caution them to regularly wash their hands with soap and water and regularly use hand sanitizers.

He ended by thanking the president and the media for such a massive disinfection exercise in his constituency to protect his people from the deadly novel Coronavirus pandemic which is battling the world.
