COVID-19:North K Presby Church Donates To The Aged

The North Kaneshie branch of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana today,donated hand sanitizers,food items, and undisclosed amounts of money to the aged within the capital of Ghana to aid in the country’s fight against COVID-19.

The intervention by the church is aimed at augmenting the Government’s efforts towards ending the spread of COVID-19 by intensifying public awareness creation in the wake of the outbreak of the deadly disease.

Speaking to the District Minister of the North Kaneshie,Rev Dr Joseph Kofi Antwi explained the need for all religious leaders to assist citizens during this trying times, calling on all civil societies to treat this call as an urgency to assist the country as a corporate social responsibility.

He further urged Christians to keep trusting in God in this trying times and also observe all protocols with regards to preventive measures of COVID-19.

Four more coronavirus cases have been recorded in Ghana making the total number of cases in the country 136. The four new cases were recorded from routine surveillance.

“As at the morning of 27 March 2020, a total of fifty-seven (57) cases including three (3) deaths have been confirmed from the regular surveillance systems. All the three (3) cases that unfortunately succumbed to the disease were aged and had underlying chronic medical conditions. All the other fifty-four (54) cases are well; fourteen (14) are being managed at home and the rest are responding well to treatment on admission in isolation. They are awaiting their test results and will be discharged when the results are negative,” the Ghana Health Service announced on its page Friday morning.

Majority of Ghana’s 136 confirmed cases are Ghanaians who returned home from affected countries.

“The number of confirmed cases among travelers under mandatory quarantine who have been tested is seventy-eight (78),” GHS further stated on its website.
