Ablekuma West Municipality is one of the 260 metropolitan, municipal and district Assemblies in Ghana and forms part of the 29 MMDAs in the Greater Accra region and have over 200,000 population with 25 settlements.
However the spread of coronavirus is fast gaining grounds in the municipality with Ablekuma West currently recording 37 positive cases of COVID-19 despite all the education and directives from the Ghana Health Service.
In this regard, the Member Parliament for the area, Hon. Ursula Owusu- Ekuful has donated some Personal Protective Equipment comprising Veronica buckets, Hand sanitizers, re-usable face masks, boxes of hand gloves to the Dansoman Polyclinic to motivate the health professionals in the delivery of their service.
Receiving the items on behalf of the clinic was the medical superintendent in charge, Dr. Felicia Anderson who thanked the MP for her timely intervention which will go a long way to help the health professionals.
Ursula Owusu- Ekuful who also doubles as the Minister of Communications, used the occasion to advise the youth especially the recalcitrant ones, that if care is not taken, Ablekuma West will be placed under lockdown due to the increase in numbers of COVID-19 cases within the community.
