Sean ”Diddy” Combs will officially lose the key to the city of Miami Beach.
Sources in connection to the matter told TMZ that the decision to rescind the 54-year-old’s key is in final negotiations by Miami Beach city officials.
However, the process is being delayed due to Hurricane Milton approaching Florida and set to make landfall on Wednesday. According to the Weather Channel, the tropical cyclone was upgraded to a Category 5 hurricane on Monday.
Diddy had been awarded the key in 2015 by former Mayor Philip Levine during the Revolt Music Conference’s welcome ceremony at the famous Fontainebleau Miami Beach hotel. The following year, the city of Miami commemorated the now-disgraced music mogul by declaring Oct. 13 as “Sean Diddy Combs Day.”
The honor was rescinded in June 2024, just months after his homes in South Beach and Los Angeles were raided by Homeland Security. Also in June, Diddy returned the key to New York City at the request of Mayor Eric Adams following the controversy related to the video of him physically assaulting ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura.
