Dr. Bawumia Calls For More Women’s Participation In The District Assemblies And Parliament

The Vice President of Ghana Dr. Alhaji Bawumia has stated that the creation of new six (6) regional capital has improved development in Ghana as they promised in the 2016 campaign.


He expressed worries over the low participation of females in MMDAs and Parliament.


He said this at the 21st biennial National delegates conference of the National Association Of Local Authorities Of Ghana (NALAG).


He said MMDAs are not only for political participation but an agents for national and economic development.


He said the government is strengthening the Local Authorities through the construction of the Local Government University in Akomadan in the Offinso North constituency Ashanti region.

The Minister of Local Government and Rural Development Hon Dan Botweh this current government is unprecedented in terms of developing the rural communities. He said called on them to champion digitization to improve revenue. Hon Dan Botweh said this to Richard Mensah.

The General Secretary of NALAG, Mr. Kokroh Dankwah has called on all Ghanaians to bring their hands-on board to rebuild the country after the COVID-19 pandemic.
