DR. BAWUMIA IN OTI REGION: I’LL BE ACCOUNTABLE TO YOU – VICE PRESIDENT ASSURES OTI CHIEFS OF GOOD GOVERNANCE

The Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has reiterated his commitment to be accountable to Ghanaians as the president of the republic, should he be elected as president on Dec 7, this year.
The vice president said he would be duty-bound by his office and mandated by the Constitution to give an account of his promises unlike his main contender, John Mahama of the National Democratic Congress, (NDC), who is not obliged to be accountable to Ghanaians after his term.
Dr Mahamudu Bawumia made these emphases over the weekend when addressed at a Stakeholders Forum at Kpassa in the Nkwanta North constituency of Oti Region.
The forum which was attended by traditional leaders, the clergy and clerics and other opinion leaders in the area, was part of activities scheduled for the NPP flag bearer as he began his campaign tour of the Oti Region.
In his welcome remark, the Paramount Chief of Kpassa, Dr Ubor Tessan Konja VI eulogised the NPP govt for its record in the area and said Dr Bawumia had the goodwill of the community to succeed in his political endeavours.
He also appealed to the vice president to ensure the provision of some social amenities that the community.

The NPP Flag bearer for his part, said he was committed to fulfilling his bold solutions for the community and Ghana, as he would be held accountable in the next four years.

Earlier on Saturday, the NPP Flag bearer commenced his nationwide constituency-focused campaign in the Krachi East, Krachi Nchumuru and Krachi West Constituencies in the Oti Region, where he shared his vision to transform, modernize and make Ghana a more holistically prosperous country.
In a stakeholder interaction, Nana Oda Gyamfi III, Paramount Chief of Asukoko Traditional Area, who spoke on behalf of the Chiefs, expressed their deep appreciation to the New Patriotic Party and the Akufo-Addo government, for development projects in the area, and impactful interventions in the country.
Welcoming Dr Bawumia to the Constituency on the first day of his tour of Oti Region, the Chiefs said the NPP has always ensured development in the area, dating back to the government of President John Agyekum Kufuor from 2001 to 2009

He assured them that when he assumes office his bold solutions for the country will transform the economy, which will empower the youth through various policies and programmes to contribute their quotas for the country.
