DR. BAWUMIA TOURS GREATER ACCRA: NPP FLAGBEARER INTERACTS WITH STAKEHOLDERS IN GREATER ACCRA

The flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has assured the clergy to implement bold solutions confronting the nation, especially on the economy, when allowed to lead the country.
The Vice President reiterated his vision and appeal during his interaction with the clergy in the Greater Accra Region when he commenced his tour of the region as he concluded his nationwide campaign to engage key stakeholders across the country.
The NPP presidential candidate used the tour to also engage with the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs and engage in house-to-house, street and market campaigns in some communities in the region.
Dr. Bawumia used the opportunity to reiterate his plans on the economy, digitalization, land management, and regulating mining among others.

On improving fiscal discipline, the NPP Flagbearer gave the assurance that his administration would ensure fiscal discipline and promised to downsize his government’s expenditure by three percent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) every year.

The NPP flagbearer then proceeded to Dodowa, in the Shai-Osudoku district, where he was welcomed by the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs, who expressed confidence in the NPP presidential candidate’s leadership qualities, ahead of the December 7 presidential election.
The House of Chiefs believes Dr Bawumia has the potential to surpass the achievements of his predecessors and make a positive impact in the country.
The Paramount Chief of Nungua and Acting President of the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs, Oboade Notse Professor Odaifio Welentsi III, expressed these sentiments during the meeting with Dr. Bawumia.
According to the House of Chiefs, Dr Bawumia’s leadership style is a departure from the violent and radical approach that has characterised some leaders in the past.
They believe his calm demeanour will enable him to make informed decisions that will benefit the country and its citizens.
The Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs expressed further optimism that even though Dr. Bawumia may not be described as a “veteran politician,” his enormous experience as Vice President and the vision he has outlined will see him through as an impactful President, before adding Dr. Bawumia’s campaign slogan “it is possible.”

Dr. Bawumia thanked the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs for their endorsement and assured them that he would not disappoint the country when elected President.
He also sought their wisdom and guidance in his quest to lead Ghana forward.

Answering a question on the stalled National Cathedral project, the NPP flag bearer called for collaborative efforts from the govt and the church, in a public private engagement to find the way forward in completing the national edifice.
