The NPP South Korea Branch Chairman, Mr. Zinleri Richard, a Ghanaian businessman and International Development Cooperation practitioner based in South Korea, lauded the NPP presidential candidate vision of digitizing Ghana while speaking with Nana Kwasi Ampofo, a journalist at Oman Fm.
Mr. Zinleri explained that Korea’s development was at par with Ghana around the 1950s and 60s, but the same cannot be said today as the Asian country has far outstrip Ghana in terms of economic development. He posits, that, one of Korea’s secrets is its digitized economy and cashless society.
This, he explained, has led to an improved performance and effective mode of revenue mobilization. Humans such as toll collectors, security services, and port systems have no access to steal revenues intended for the state.
A digitized economy also curbs a crime rate substantially if not wholly eradicated. Citizens and public servants would be kept in check knowing that everything is connected digitally.
These digitized measurements would rake-in substantial amounts of revenue which will then be used to build several infrastructures, social welfare policies, livelihood improvement programs, social interventions, building of many hospitals, schools, stadiums, airports, new ports, etc.
He therefore advised all Ghanaians to support, promote and vote for Dr. Bawumia for the vision to be actualized in Ghana.
