Parliament of Ghana has given an approval to President’s nominee, Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye as a Deputy Health Minister.
Presenting the committee’s report by it Chairman, Mr. Joseph Osei Owusu who double as the first Deputy Speaker of Parliament said, the performance and answers given by the nominee before the committee justified that, Dr. Okoe Boye really understand his job as a professional medical practitioner who is more than ready to deliver on the new appointment he has been nominated for.
Appointment committee last Wednesday vetted Dr. Okoe Boye to asses his competence and capabilities as to indeed he qualifies for the position has been nominated for as Deputy Health minister.
It was concluded in the committee’s report that, the Member of Parliament for Ledzokuku and current board Chairman for Korle-bu teaching hospital, Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye performed excellently before the committee and therefore urged Parliament to approve him for the position as a Deputy minister for Health.
Members of Parliament who contributed to the appointment committee’s report which include, Minister for Works and Housing, Samuel Atta Akyea, Hon. Member of Parliament for North Tongu and ranking member on Foreign Affairs committee, Samuel Okudzato Ablakwa, Hon. Member of Parliament for Tamale Central, Inusah Fuseini, Minister for Communication, Mrs. Urslar Owusu Ekuful, the minority leader in Parliament, Haruna Iddrisu and the Majority leader, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu and others called for the approval of the nominee as Deputy Health Minister.
The Rt Hon. Speaker of Parliament, Prof. Aaron Mike Oquaye posed the question for the approval or otherwise of the appointment, the House unanimously gave their approval to Dr. Okoe Boye as a Deputy minister for Health.
