EASTERN REGION TOWN HALL MEETING: NPP GOVERNMENT TOUTS ACHIEVEMENT AT EASTERN REGIONAL TOWN HALL MEETING

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) government showcased its achievements in the Eastern Region at a town hall meeting and exhibition held in Koforidua on Tuesday, September 3, 2024.
The Eastern Regional Minister Seth Kwame Acheampong says President Nana Akufo-Addo’s government has constructed more roads in the region than the previous John Mahama administration.
He highlighted the government’s efforts to transform the region since 2017, citing infrastructure development, healthcare, education, and economic empowerment as key areas of focus.
Mr. Acheampong outlines several major road projects completed under the current administration, such as the rehabilitation of the Nkawkaw-Noyem-New Abirem roads, the reconstruction of the Koforidua-Asesewa-Abourso roads, and the partial reconstruction of the Koforidua-Bonsu road.
He noted that these projects have greatly improved access and connectivity in the region, reducing travel times and facilitating trade and commerce.

The Minister of Information, Fatimatu Abubakar, whose ministry organized the town halls, underscored the importance of these events as a means of enhancing government accountability and transparency.
She explained that town hall meetings are crucial because they allow government to bring governance closer to the people and also provide a platform for citizens to engage government officials directly on government projects and policies.

The Deputy Minister of Finance Dr Alex Ampaabeng has affirmed the government’s commitment to fulfilling its promises and doing more for the people of Ghana.
He stressed key economic successes that demonstrate the government’s dedication to improving the lives of Ghanaians.
According to him, government positive economic policies have set the economy on a strong recovery path; the declining inflation rate, the stabilization of the cedi, and a remarkable balance of trade surplus are clear evidence.

On his part, Dr. Anthony Nsiah-Asare, the Presidential Advisor on Health, has highlighted the progress of the government’s Agenda 111 projects, which aim to provide accessible and quality healthcare across the country.

The event featured exhibitions showcasing government projects and achievements, providing citizens with a firsthand look at the tangible results of the government’s developmental efforts within the 33 municipal and district assemblies in the Eastern region.
