EDUCATION IN ABUAKWA NORTH: TAKE YOUR EDUCATION SERIOUSLY FOR GHANA’S DEVELOPMENT – TWUM AMPOFO URGES STUDENTS

The Deputy Minister of Education in charge of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), Mrs. Gifty Twum-Ampofo, has encouraged students to learn hard to become solutions-oriented, results-oriented and responsible persons for their communities to accelerate national development.
She said the government has identified education as critical to building a cohesive and prosperous country.
Madam Gifty Twum-Ampofo gave this advice when she visited some selected basic schools in Abuakwa North Municipality of the Eastern Region to assess challenges and improve their logistical and infrastructural needs.
The Deputy Minister and her entourage visited schools that included Akyem Kukuratumi M/A Basic, Akyem New-Tafo Besease AME Zion Basic, Akyem Osiem R/C Basic, Akyem Aboabo M/A Basic and Ofori Panin Basic School.
Some of the pupils benefited from the visit after she presented them with some teaching and learning materials, new school uniforms and some sanitary materials.
Speaking to the media in an interview, Madam Gifty Twum-Ampofo explained the essence of education and advised them to prioritize their studies to enable them to realize their future careers.

At a brief meeting with parents and teachers, she asked them to put in maximum effort in their work, assuring them that the government would continue to provide the necessary incentives for them.
She urged teachers to do their best in teaching and mentoring the schoolchildren, and she urged parents not to shirk their responsibility towards their children but to ensure that the children had a good education, which ensured their success in the future.

On her part, Madam Abena Gyamerah, Abuakwa North Municipal Director of Education, expressed her impression of the increase in enrolment and measures put in place at various schools to improve the quality of education in the municipality.
