News filtering in this morning is that the legitimately elected parliamentary candidate of the NDC in Effutu, Lawyer Victor Yankson, has stepped down.
In a letter to the General Secretary of the NDC, Lawyer Yankson has detailed the uncooperative attitude of the constituency’s executives and council of elders ever since he was elected to lead the party.
In his view, such a development would not augur well for the party as it goes into the 2020 polls.
For the party to achieve what he describes as a rescue mission, only a united front can ensure that. That unity, he notes in the letter, is missing.
He has pledged his unrelenting commitment to the course of the NDC despite his predicament.
The Effutu NDC has been in flames for months since the party elected its parliamentary candidate. There have been some clandestine moves to replace Victor Yankson with another candidate.
It is unclear who takes over the baton to lead the party into the next elections. It is a known fact that the fear of Afenyo-Markin is responsible for this drama in the opposition party in Effutu.
