Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, and the wife Lady Julia, joined thousands of registered voters in the Manhyia South Constituency, to cast their ballot in the election to choose the political leadership for the next four years.
The Asantehene, resplendent in a richly beautifully woven kente cloth and accompanied by some traditional rulers, voted at exactly 1200 hours at the Manhyia Polling Station One.
Some members of the ECOWAS Observer Mission, alongside a horde of foreign and local journalists were there to observe the event.
In all, there are 308 registered voters at that polling centre and at the time the King showed up to vote, 169 of them had already gone through the process.
So far, the conduct of the general election has been peaceful and smooth in the Constituency, which has a total of 36,451 registered voters.
Relatedly, Daasebre Otuo Serebour II, Omanhene of Juaben and Chairman of the Council of State, voted at the Juaben Court Polling Centre.
The centre has 394 registered voters and 154 of them had already voted before the Omanhene cast his ballot.
He called for all to remain calm and peaceful – to allow the Electoral Commission (EC) to do its job.
