ELECTORAL COMMISSION OF GHANA: NPP & NDC DIVIDED OVER MISSING BIOMETRIC DEVICES

The Electoral Commission (EC) has requested the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at the Inter-Party Advisory Committee meeting, to volunteer any information regarding the robbery of the EC biometric device so that proper investigations can be carried out.
The NDC is reluctant, insisting that the EC must protect the machines. Hence, the EC should be able to conduct an inventory of machines to provide an account and update the public on the issue.
According to NDC, the party is not interested in the criminality of the lost equipment but rather in the administration of those machines to the extent that it can jeopardize and compromise the integrity of the exercise.

Speaking at the sideline of the Inter-Party Advisory Committee meeting, Dr. Omane Boamah, who is the Director of Elections at the NDC said there are several questions for the EC to answer.

On his party the Director of Election and Research at the NPP, Evans Nimakoh, has different opinion.
