Former Accra lions and Vision Fc defender Ali Mohammed signs for Hearts of Oak.

Mohammed has signed a two-year contract with record Ghana FA Cup holders Hearts of Oak, joining from fellow top-flight side Vision FC to strengthen their defense ahead of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season. The experienced centre-back brings a solid background in domestic football, having previously featured for AshantiGold (now defunct), Accra Lions, Tamale City, and Vision FC.

A club statement confirmed: “We are pleased to announce the signing of Centre Back, Ali Mohammed from Vision FC. 2025-2027, welcome to the Phobia family.”

Mohammed becomes Hearts of Oak’s third signing of the transfer window, following the arrivals of Kwabe Owusu from GoldStars and Baba Adamu from Division One League side Golden Kick SC.

The 2000 CAF Champions League winners, who also lifted the 2001 CAF Super Cup, finished fourth in last season’s Ghana Premier League with 58 points — level with arch-rivals Asante Kotoko. The club is now focused on reinforcing its squad for a stronger title push next season.

Hearts of Oak are set to face fellow Premier League outfit Heart of Lions in the 2025 Homowo Cup at the Accra Sports Stadium on August 17. The new signings, including Mohammed, are expected to feature and impress head coach Mas Ud Didi Dramani.
