French-Based Star Ernest Nuamah Suffers ACL Injury In Huge Blow For Black Stars

Black Stars and Olympique Lyon player Ernest Nuamah has suffered an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury.


The 21-year old came off in the seventh minute after a serious knee injury while playing for his club Lyon in their league game against Lille on Saturday 5th April,2025.


Lyon’s medical team confirms in a test carried out on the player shows a ruptured ligament which brings his season to an immediate end.


Nuamah in his last appearance netted a goal in Ghana’s dominant 5-0 victory over Chad in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, capping off the Black Stars’ impressive win. Ghana now leads Group I and is in a strong position to secure qualification for next year’s World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.


The player will likely miss the rest of Ghana’s world cup qualifiers scheduled in September.
