The Ministry of Health and Ghana Health Service in collaboration with Korea Telecom has launched a Global Epidemic Prevention Platform which aimed at helping disease surveillance across the globe.
Speaking at the launch the, Director General Ghana Health Service, Dr Nsiah Asare indicated, the App will go a long to contribute to the safety of infectious disease.
He said the Global Epidemic Prevention Platform, GEPP will also improve the health information systems in the Ghana Heath Service and make decisions and data driven to ensure accurate information to managers to take critical decision in health care delivery in the country.
According to him, the introduction of the APP will further increase surveillance on Ghana’s boarders of highly infectious pathogens and within the country.
Mr Nsiah Asare revealed that since the launch of the Drones system this year at Omenako in the Eastern Region, essential medicine are being distributed to the remote areas within Eastern Ashanti and GT Accra and the second distribution site will be launched next month at Asante Mampong including Sehwi Wiawso and Wolungu in the Northern Region.
