Ghana’s 4×100 relay team secures Paris Olympic ticket with a resurgent win

After finishing in eighth place in heat one of their 4×100 relay race in the early hours of Saturday dawn, Team Ghana mounted a resurgent comeback to earn a ticket to the 2024 Paris Olympic Games after finishing with a season-best time of 38.29s.

Team Ghana’s contingent did it in grand style on day 2, finishing above rivals Nigeria, who came in second place at the ongoing World Athletics Relays championship in the Bahamas.

More so, after dropping the baton in their first race during the changeover, Ghana’s quartet of Ibrahim Fuseini, Isaac Botsio, Benjamin Azamati, and African Games 200m gold medalist Joseph Paul Amoah showed their character and resilience to storm away to victory in Heat 2 at the Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium in Nassau,Bahamas.

This time around Team Ghana had their changeover spot on with Joseph Paul Amoah getting the job done with a super sprint over the finishing line. The 4×100 m relay team couldn’t hold back their joy as they celebrated together with their arch-rivals, Nigeria, in grand style after a sweet revenge victory.
