Ghana’s Evelyn Badu wins big at 2022 CAF Awards

Black Princesses captain, Evelyn Badu has been crowned Young Player of the Year and Interclub Player of the Year at the 2022 CAF Awards in Rabat, Morocco.

The 19-year-old, who was named the Player of the Tournament during the 2021 CAF Women’s Champions League, and also won the Golden Boot, saw off competition from a teammate, Doris Boaduwaa and Moroccan, Yasmine Zouhir to win the award for Young Player of the Year.

Badu was also nominated for the Interclub Player of the Year and won the award ahead of Andile Dlamini and Bambananie Mbanie, both of Mamelodi Sundowns.

Badu has since earned a move to Norwegian club, Avaldsnes IL but was a key part of the Hasaacas Ladies team that went to the final of the maiden edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League.
