Hon. Ken Ohene Agyapong, the leading presidential contender of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), appealed to the NPP delegates of the Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese constituency to endorse him with over 90 per cent of their votes, to help him become the party’s presidential candidate in the upcoming January 31 NPP presidential primaries.
The former six-term Assin Central legislator made this appeal when he interacted with NPP delegates and well-wishers in the constituency, as part of his nationwide Unity Tour, to make a case for his election as the NPP flagbearer.
Hon Ken Agyapong used the occasion to tout his selfless contributions not only to the constituency but to the Central Region in general.
The affable and seasoned politician said it was time an indigene of the Central Region became president, as it bears numerous fruits for the region.
He said the area was blessed with numerous resources, including historical and tourist locations, which, when effectively harnessed, will bring a lot of economic benefits to the area and beyond.
Hon Ken Agyapong urged the delegates to defy all intimidation, underhand tricks and negative propaganda and give him the nod to wrest power from the NDC.
Some NPP executives in the constituency endorsed the presidential aspirations of Ken Agyapong and appealed to the delegates to vote for him.
