Glico General Provides GHC 1 Million Insurance Cover For UG Corporate Football League

The University of Ghana Corporate Football League received a significant boost yesterday as Glico General Insurance officially announced a GHC 1 million insurance package during the league’s launch event at the VIP Lounge, University of Ghana Sports Stadium. This comprehensive coverage will protect both players and fans throughout the league.

The much anticipated UG Corporate Football League has eighteen (18) corporate teams from some of Ghana’s top institutions, including Bui Power Authority, Lancaster Hotel, Telecel Ghana, National Petroleum Authority , Stanbic Bank Ghana, Ghana Armed Forces Officers Sports Club, Media General Network, Forestry Commission, Ghana Civil Aviation Authority, Ghana Football Association, Ghana National Petroleum Corporation  and Teams from the University of Ghana like the College of Humanities, College of Health Sciences, College of Education, College of Basic & Applied Sciences, Central Administration, University of Ghana Alumni Association, and The Union Ghana, the defending champions.

 

During the announcement, Managing Director of Glico General Insurance highlighted the company’s commitment to ensuring a secure and competitive environment for all. “Football is a sport that brings people together, but it also carries risks. With the tournament officially launched, attention now shifts to the highly anticipated season opener on Friday, February 21st, 2025, where Union Ghana will begin their title defense against College of Humanities. The day will feature a total of four matches, promising an exciting start to the league.
